“Spare” time is created through efficiencies. I’m all for efficiencies and what they do for us, but the downside is when we treat the time we free up like it’s nothing, and mindlessly fill it with whatever’s next on our list.

Instead, I want to suggest that you create a high standard for your spare time. Rather than consider it unmeaningful, or only available for something that won’t truly make a difference for you, consider the time precious, and mindfully fill it with something; preferably something for you. Like a nap. Or a walk with your bestie. Or preparing a nutritious lunch rather than grabbing whatever’s fast.

Don’t commit that extra time to more work. Instead, claim it for yourself,  and do something you love, and that serves you in beautiful ways.
